Eliza Orlins is a Manhattan public defender who has spent the last 17 years fighting for the people our system tends to fail first. Since 2009 she's represented close to 5,000 New Yorkers who couldn't afford a lawyer, earning a reputation as a relentless advocate for Black and brown communities and working class neighborhoods across the city. A two-time Survivor contestant turned criminal justice reformer, she ran for Manhattan DA in 2021 on a platform built to overhaul the system and make New York safer for everyone, and she remains one of the loudest, sharpest voices in that fight today.
