Vibes Only is here to check the vibes of American politics and break down the need-to-know news of the week. And while one of the two major parties in the country has overwhelmingly embraced a right-wing movement whose whole vibe is undermining democracy and social progress, it’s clear we need voices that can meet voters where they are and clearly and effectively call that BS out for what it is.
Co-host Brian Derrick has earned a reputation for his ability to break down political news and define the stakes to his sizable and dedicated social media audience. Co-host Glennis Meagher is a digital media savant who has built platforms to encourage millennials and gen z to engage with politics, some for the first time. Even when the news of the week could easily kill the vibe, Brian and Glennis are like those needed friends that have the unique ability to keep it real AND pull us out of a doom spiral.

- Of course - there was another failed assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump.
- Also on Sunday, Trump seemed to have an out-of-nowhere delayed reaction to Taylor Swift's endorsement of Harris, taking to Truth Social to type “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
- Early polls indicate a post-debate bump for Harris, and her campaign reported a $47 million fundraising haul int he 24 hours after the debate (her biggest day since she launched her campaign in July).
- And the House GOP is once again playing games with the budget, suggesting they'll attach the "SAVE Act" to the budget that they say is designed to keep "non-citizens" from voting (not an actual problem with our elections), threatening a potential government shutdown in less than two weeks if they can't pass a CR.
In it's giving, we discuss JD's shocking admission that he "creates stories" of convenience to make a media narrative (Haitian migrants in Springfield, OH are NOT "eating the dogs").
